Stye lower eyelid since last june

Hi, I’ve had a stye, on my right lower eyelid since last June. Last week, the doctor told me to try another 10-day course of cortisone and antibiotic eye drops, and said that if it doesn't go away, I’ll need surgery. What can i do? I don't want to have surgery. Thanks for your kindness, Andrea
